The tallest-ever ATP-ranked player, Reilly Opelka, is not dating anyone as of 2025. However, his name has been linked to some tennis players in the past.
Standing at 6 feet 11 inches, Opelka’s towering presence was on full display during the opening round of the US Open, where fans were stunned watching him beside the Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz on Arthur Ashe. The 27-year-old American’s incredible height difference with Alcaraz was especially striking in their pre-match photo.
Opelka Linked To the Legendary Venus Williams
Even though Opelka is single, the romance rumors have not left him alone. He was once linked to the tennis legend Venus Williams after they were spotted together in multiple locations. Opelka and Williams once practiced together at the Ibis Golf and Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where tennis instructor Eric Hechtman shared a video of their session. Opelka later commented that training with Williams was “a lot of fun.”
Similarly, on May 6, 2021, Hechtman posted a collage on Instagram showing he had traveled to Rome with Opelka and Williams. The pair were spotted wearing matching outfits while touring an Italian museum. Opelka also joined Williams at the premiere of King Richard, the film based on the life of Serena and Venus Williams’ father, Richard Williams.
The duo’s outings didn’t stop there. They were later seen at a gathering with fellow tennis star Taylor Fritz and former NBA player David Lee. All four shared a group photo from the event on their social media accounts.
Neither Reilly Opelka nor Venus Williams ever confirmed their relationship status, but an Instagram post seemed to fuel speculation that the two might be more than just friends.
Williams addressed the rumors in a lighthearted way during an Instagram Q&A with her fans. When asked, “Are you and Reilly dating?” the WTA legend playfully replied, “No, @ReillyOpelka shot me down,” leaving fans amused with her cheeky response.

Tennis legend Williams has officially confirmed her engagement to actor-producer Andrea Preti. They are set to walk down the aisle in September 2025 on the Amalfi Coast. Williams confirmed the engagement news after a match at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, saying, “My fiancé is here and really encouraged me to keep playing.”
