Panthers legend Cam Newton has been in the headlines lately for his unfiltered stance on Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts. He’s claimed Eagles superstar doesn’t belong in the NFL’s top 10. Ever since he released his Top 10 QB rankings video, Newton has faced backlash from current and ex-NFL players and people outside the league. One of the people who threw shade at the ex-NFL MVP for his take was rapper Gillie Da Kid.

Enraged that his comments were taken out of context, Newton spat fire during Wednesday’s episode of ‘4th & 1 With Cam Newton.’ He replied to ex-Steelers Ryan Clark, Gillie Da Kid, Dan Orlovsky, and more.

“Another person that will unlock Petty Cam is Gillie da Kid. I got a question to ask, can you name one Gillie Da Kid album? Can you quote any of his music?.. So, your unpopular pick or your popular pick or the content that you create Gillie, is the same thing that I do as content creators. Step aside sir,” said Panthers icon Newton.

Gillie Da Kid Blasts Cam Newton Over Jalen Hurts Debate

Not happy with Cam Newton’s criticism of him, rapper and podcaster Gillie Da Kid took to social media to clap back at the ex-NFL MVP.

“It’s a good day, Cam Newton. I seen you came at me because I said Jalen Hurts did what you couldn’t do, that was win a Super Bowl. So you wanna get all in your feelings. Man, shut your tight a*s up ni**a. Ni**ga you had a jersey with a bow tie, you corny a*s ni**a…,” Kid said.

He continued blasting Newton for never winning a Super Bowl, pointing out Hurts’ two Super Bowl appearances and one win.

“You’ll never be able to fu*k with Jalen hurts, ni**a. You super goofy, corny a*s ni**a. What you do? You won MVP… And you hatin’ on him, cause he did what you couldn’t do. Win a Super Bowl, and he’s been to two of them. So when you hatin’ on him ni**a, just know you wasn’t better than him,” Kid continued.

He also torched the ex-NFL star for criticizing his music career.

“You talk about me, can you name one of my albums? You ain’t gotta be able to name onf my albums, ni**a. F**k wrong with you. You in my space, you ain’t bigger than me in this space, ni**a. You a low a** bouy in this space, ni**a… Lets be for real. You out for clout chasing man,” Kid said.

Cam Newton Goes Scorched Earth on ESPN’s Ryan Clark

Newton also took aim at ESPN analyst Ryan Clark after the ex-Steeler defended Hurts on Get Up, directly comparing Newton’s NFL career to the Eagles’ star’s rising trajectory.

This did not sit well with Newton, who fired back in his podcast, making it both personal and loud.

“We cannot relate. People keep attacking Cam the person, or why he didn’t jump on the fumble, or why he didn’t do this, or comparing and contrasting. So when I compare and contrast you guys’ statistics… as we keep going and keep unlocking and keep poking the bear and y’all want to play this game, I can play this game, too,” Newton said.
