Just days after rejoining the Las Vegas Raiders, Amari Cooper announced his intention to retire, according to NFL insiders on Thursday. The 31-year-old wide receiver began his career with the Raiders, who picked him fourth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, and later played for the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills.

Over his NFL tenure, Cooper earned significant income through player contracts, salaries, bonuses, and endorsement deals, cementing his status as one of the league’s most lucrative wideouts.

Amari Cooper Net Worth And Career Earnings

Retired wide receiver Cooper has an estimated net worth of around $50 million. Over the course of his NFL career, Cooper earned approximately $130 million in salary alone, making him one of the highest-paid wideouts of his generation. Combined with endorsement deals and business ventures, he leaves football with long-term financial security.

Cooper began his career with the Raiders, signing a fully guaranteed four-year deal worth $22.66 million, which included a $14.74 million signing bonus. During his first 3.5 seasons (2015–2018), he earned roughly $22 million, highlighted by consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and two Pro Bowl selections, before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys midway through 2018.

In Dallas, Cooper significantly boosted his earnings with a five-year, $100 million contract extension signed on March 17, 2020. The deal included $40 million guaranteed at signing and $60 million in injury guarantees, including a $10 million signing bonus.

After his March 2022 trade to the Cleveland Browns, Cooper’s contract carried over. The Browns restructured portions of his salary to manage the cap, converting $18.88 million of his 2022 salary and $18.79 million of his 2024 salary into bonuses while adding void years. Through 2024, Cooper’s total earnings with Cleveland, including base salaries and bonuses, are estimated at $40 million, with standout 1,000-yard seasons in both 2022 and 2023.

Cooper had a brief stint with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, following a midseason trade on October 15, which added roughly $800,000 to his total based on the prorated portion of his $1.21 million base salary following the Cleveland restructuring.

His final NFL contract with the Raiders was signed in August 2025: a one-year deal worth $4 million, with potential incentives that could increase it to $6 million.
