Getting into a scuffle, that too in a foreign country, is never a wise move—something a few Kansas State Wildcats fans may have learned the hard way in Dublin. Following the Wildcats’ 24-21 loss to the Iowa State Cyclones, Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson’s father and brother were allegedly involved in a heated altercation outside the stadium.

Avery Johnson’s Dad and Brother Get Into a Massive Fight

Few things are worse than getting arrested in a foreign country—especially after dropping thousands of dollars to watch your team lose its season-opener. Fortunately for a few Wildcats fans in Dublin, they avoided a night behind bars. Unfortunately, they’ve gone viral for all the wrong reasons after a postgame brawl.

According to Tim Fitzgerald of GoPowercat, the altercation reportedly involved family members of Wildcats quarterback Avery Johnson.

GoPowercat has confirmed that there was a postgame confrontation at Aviva Stadium involving Mark Johnson, father of Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson, and another man believed to be Mr. Johnson’s eldest son,” Fitzgerald shared on social media.

According to witnesses, the conflict turned physical. According to one source, no arrests were made stemming from this incident. There is reportedly video of the disagreement and at least one eyewitness is tied to Kansas State athletics.”

Alcohol, emotions, and a tough loss can be a volatile mix—but that doesn’t mean you need to take your frustrations to the streets. Still, details remain murky. It’s unclear whether the Johnson family members were fighting each other or someone else. A video making the rounds online appears to show two men on the ground as bystanders scramble to separate them. Union Redskins Football has not independently verified the footage.
