Florida State Seminoles’ freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard is in stable condition after being shot while visiting family, the school said Monday. According to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, he was outside of an apartment complex in a vehicle when the shooting happened Sunday in Havana, Florida. Investigation is ongoing.
As the news spreads, many people have shown interest in Pritchard’s personal background, including his parents and others.
Ethan Pritchard’s Parents
Pritchard was born in 2007 to his parents, Earl and Andrea. Ethan never knew his mother because two months after giving birth to him, Andrea passed away due to a fatal brain aneurysm. Interestingly, Andrea also attended Florida State University, which would eventually lure young Ethan to Florida and inspire him to follow in her footsteps. He received offers from 20 other schools, including Auburn, Colorado, and Alabama, but Pritchard picked FSU.
“That played a big role in it,” Ethan said of his mother after committing to Florida State. “I’ve been trying not to think about it, but like I said, she played a big role. That was a real good feeling.”
After his mother’s death, his father Earl raised him all by himself.
