No. The legendary WWE icon Jeff Hardy is alive and doing well in his life. The rumors about his death likely originated from a fake Facebook page spreading hoaxes. While Hardy has had his share of battles with addiction, he is very much alive. Hardy has been open about his past struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, which have affected both his personal and professional life.
In June 2022, Hardy was arrested in Florida for driving under the influence, marking his third DUI. Since then, he has committed to his recovery, spending time in rehabilitation programs and participating in treatment initiatives to maintain his sobriety.
Jeff Hardy and The Hardy Boyz’s Possible Return To the WWE
Jeff Hardy’s brother, Matt, recently revealed that he and Jeff are open to one final run in WWE.
The two brothers made a surprise appearance on WWE’s NXT Roadblock special in March, where they defended their TNA World Tag Team Championships against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom. Following that appearance, WWE released new Hardy Boyz merchandise, fueling speculation about a potential main roster comeback.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Matt hinted at a possible return while emphasizing a desire for a limited schedule to prioritize family time. “We’d like maybe one last hurrah with WWE, and that could even be possible while working with TNA too, so we’ll see,” he said.
“It would be nice to still have the most limited schedule we could have, which could optimise how much time we could spend at home with our families and our kids,” he continued.
Matt also addressed past Hall of Fame talks, confirming that WWE previously offered Jeff a solo induction while Matt was under contract with AEW. “I wasn’t contacted because I worked at AEW at the time,” Matt explained. Jeff added, humorously, “I was thinking 2030.”
When asked why he turned down the Hall of Fame induction, Jeff shared a heartfelt reason: he didn’t feel right accepting the honor without his brother. “It just didn’t feel right going in without Matt,” he said. “That was my feeling in the moment. WWE understood and wished me luck in my future endeavors.”
The brothers’ comments have reignited hope among fans that the Hardy Boyz could make one more memorable run in WWE, possibly culminating in a shared Hall of Fame induction down the line.
