Bears backup QB Bagent choked up while expressing gratitude for his $10 million extension with the Bears on Wednesday.
“You know, a lot of people don’t know this, but my dad is my right-hand man, and he didn’t even have running water until he was in high school,” Bagent said through tears.
“There’s definitely a lot of things for people that I think I could certainly help,” he continued. “With this gift I’ve been blessed with, but yeah, just little things like that, you know, I don’t really know anybody back at home with any money, so it feels good. It’s certainly a weight off my shoulders and my family’s shoulders,” adding that it “definitely means a lot.”
