The Milwaukee Brewers honored legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker with a star-studded pregame celebration. The tribute hosted by Uecker’s former NBC broadcast partner Bob Costas brought the legendary lineup of baseball greats, including George Brett, Ted Simmons, and Brewers icon Robin Yount.
Yount’s appearance in the booth highlighted his enduring bond with the Brewers organization. While fans know him for his outstanding baseball career, many are curious about the personal life of the 3-time All-Star.
Robin Yount’s Wife And Kids
The Brewers legend Robin Yount met his wife, Michele Edelstein, at William Howard Taft High School. The two reconnected after his rookie season and walked down the aisle in 1979. Together, Robin and Michele raised four children—daughters Melissa, Amy, and Jenna, and son Dustin.
Yount’s connection to baseball runs deep within his family. His older brother, Larry, was briefly called up to the major leagues as a pitcher for the Houston Astros in 1971. However, Larry injured his elbow while warming up for his debut and never threw an official pitch. Nonetheless, because he had already been announced into the game, he remains in the record books as having made one MLB appearance.

The love for the game didn’t stop with Robin and Larry. Robin’s son, Dustin, played professional baseball in the minor leagues for several years, continuing the family tradition. His nephews also followed suit: Austin spent time in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, while Cody played college baseball at Pepperdine University.
Since retiring from MLB, Yount has pursued his other lifelong passions — motorcycle and auto racing. He has remained active in the racing world, finding adrenaline and challenge beyond the diamond.
In 2008, Yount launched his own all-natural lemonade brand called Robinade, with a portion of the proceeds going to support charitable causes.
Robin Yount’s Early Life
Robin R. Yount was born on September 16, 1955, in Danville, Illinois. Shortly after his birth, his family relocated briefly to Covington, Indiana, before settling in Southern California when Robin was still an infant.
The move was prompted by his father’s job with Rocketdyne, where he worked testing rocket engines—a fitting backdrop for a future star destined to launch a Hall of Fame career. Robin later attended William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California, where his talent on the baseball field began to attract serious attention.
