Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes usually keeps a low profile during the offseason. However, that changed when a Fourth of July party celebration photo of him went viral, sparking buzz about his ‘dad bod.’
Mahomes and his wife Brittany embraced the red, white and blue in style as they partied with their close friends. Brittany was seen wearing the stars and stripes in a blue one-piece swimsuit and topped it off with a red and white cap. Meanwhile, her NFL superstar beau opted to go shirtless showing off his famous ‘dad bod.’
What started as casual summer pictures quickly went viral on social media, attracting a firestorm of reaction. Among the many reactions, the one that stood out was from Kansas City radio host Kevin Keitzman, who called the three-time Super Bowl champion ‘fat.’
Analyst Defends Patrick Mahomes’ ‘Dad Bod’
After the comments of Kansas City radio host Keitzman went viral many people have come to defend the 3-time Super Bowl MVP. Recently ESPN’s Peter Schrager delivered a fiery message to the doubters.
He did not fire back directly at Keitzman; instead, he made a solid case for why Mahomes’ physique wasn’t a concern.
Some thoughts on @PatrickMahomes , his glorious dad bod, and those bold enough to think he isn’t going to come out this season more motivated than ever before.

Schrager started off on ESPN’s Get Up, saying,
“For all the dad bod jokes, all the memes, and all the local Radio Sports hot takes that came with this image, here’s something else, and that’s more fuel to the fire.”
“This is the part of Patrick Mahomes’ arsenal that’s most underappreciated and maybe overlooked: This dude is a stone-cold killer, and whether he admits it or not, he sees and hears everything. So while the rest of the league was crowing Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson a year ago, it was Mahomes who was listening, watching, and nodding along as he secured home-field advantage and marched his team right through the playoffs into his third straight Super Bowl,” he continued.
“See, Patrick Mahomes is still the greatest player in this sport and now, he’s something even scarier,” Schrager added. “He’s motivated more than ever before. So, enjoy the memes and dad bod jokes in July, I’ll be talking Mahomes in January.”
Nick Wright Defends Patrick Mahomes In a Fiery Rant
Peter Schrager isn’t the only analyst defending Mahomes. Before Peter, longtime Chiefs fan and former Kansas City radio broadcaster Nick Wright took a hard line against Kevin Kietzman.
In addition to defending his favorite football player, Wright reignited a personal rivalry with Kietzman that had been brewing for over a decade.
