The greatest of all time, Tom Brady’s son John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan, was born in 2007 with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, shortly after they had broken up in 2006. Brady was already dating supermodel Gisele Bündchen at this time and admitted that Moynahan’s pregnancy came as a shock.
“Next thing you know, I found out that Bridget was pregnant with our son. So that was a very unique time … and it challenged me in a lot of ways, again, to grow up in a different way. It was very hard for my wife to think she fell in love with this guy, and then now this guy’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnant,” said Brady.
Now 18, Jack is all grown up. He attends Riverdale Country School, a college preparatory day school in New York City, where he is a star athlete.
Does Tom Brady’s Son Play Football?
Brady’s eldest, Jack, is a natural-born athlete. He demonstrated his athletic talents early in high school, playing football; however, basketball has recently become his primary focus.
It was not always like this. Back in 2017, Jack’s mom, Bridget Moynahan, revealed that soccer was his first love.
“I think right now he wants to be a professional soccer player,” Moynahan said at the time. Brady also echoed those same sentiments in 2018, “My oldest son Jack really loves soccer. He wants to be an Olympic soccer goalie.”
Later, Jack shifted his focus to football, playing for his school’s football team, and his father was really proud.
“I love watching him play quarterback because I think there’s very few things in life I could probably help him with,” Brady said on his Let’s Go! podcast in October 2022. “I don’t have a lot of specialties in life other than probably throwing the football. He’s just a great kid. But I can definitely help him at quarterback.”
He has already noticed his son’s natural talent. “[He has] great hand-eye coordination. He actually moves better than I did at his age.”
Jack Moynahan is a Basketball Star
According to Jack’s HUDL profile, he has already surpassed his 6-foot-4 father, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 170 pounds. Playing as a shooting guard, he has quickly made a name for himself on the court.
His AAU team, the Riverside Hawks, recently shared his summer highlights, noting that he averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds per game in this year’s Hoop Group Academic League.
“Jack has turned himself into a highly sought-after prospect. His learning curve for the game is impressive. His ability to read the floor as a passer, make smarter cuts, and understand spacing has improved substantially,” the Riverside Hawks wrote.
