Bobby Earnhardt, the grandson of Dale Earnhardt, is returning to the track. He has not competed in the ARCA Menards Series since 2017, but the fourth-generation racer is making a surprise return to “The Last Great Colosseum,” next weekend. The 38-year-old made a significant announcement about his plans to get back behind the wheel for a highly anticipated comeback in stock-car racing.
Bobby Dale Earnhardt’s Announcement
On Monday, Bobby Dale made a major announcement on his 38th birthday, stating that he’ll return to the track in the upcoming ARCA Menards Series race at BMS on September 11.
A fourth-generation racer whose great-grandfather was Ralph Earnhardt, Bobby has three previous ARCA starts, finishing as high as 19th. Along with that, he also made seven starts in the NASCAR Xfinity series, placing as high as 27th at Kansas Speedway.

Taking to social media, Bobby wrote,
I’m excited to share that I’ll be racing in the ARCA Menards Series at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 11! This will be my first ARCA race at Bristol, and I couldn’t be more excited to take on ‘The Last Great Colosseum.
“We’ve still got a few sponsor spots open, and they’re set up to be very affordable so that anyone from local businesses to friends can be part of this race,” he continued, noting the need for support to make it happen.
Earnhardt also noted that the team he’s driving for and the sponsor will be revealed later in the week.
Bobby Dale Earnhardt’s Family
Bobby was born on September 1, 1987, as the eldest son of Kerry Earhnardt. His father, Kerry, is the son of the late NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the grandson of Ralph Earnhardt, making Bobby the eldest great-grandson of the Earnhardt racing dynasty.
He is also the nephew of two-time Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the older brother of Jeffrey Earnhardt, the most recent Earnhardt to compete at the national level of stock car racing.
Bobby and Jeffrey also have two maternal half-brothers, David and James Ray, and a paternal half-sister, Kayla. Bobby is a married man with four children, two sons and two daughters, from his wife, Kimberly.
