Two years after making their first public appearance as a couple in September 2023 at a Kansas City Chiefs game, NFL power couple Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have taken their relationship to the next level.
Despite their high profiles, the couple has kept things low-key, rarely sharing details about their romance in public. Recently, however, they’ve been more in public than ever. Kelce posted their first pictures together on Instagram, and Taylor made a surprise appearance on the New Heights podcast.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Engaged
The NFL power couple announced Tuesday that they are engaged via an Instagram post with a caption that read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The collage of pictures included five images: a couple embracing in a floral setting, a close-up shot of Swift’s large engagement ring, and a photo of Kelce bending down on one knee.
As of this writing, the post has already surpassed 22.5 million likes, hitting 1 million in under 10 minutes. With their combined star power, it’s no surprise this moment is on track to break records.
Where Did Taylor Swift Get Engaged?
Speaking to News 5 Cleveland on Tuesday, Travis’ father, Ed, shared that the Chiefs star popped the question to Swift in a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, nearly two weeks ago. He added that he had been aware of the plan for months, initially thinking the proposal would be made during the 2024 NFL season.

From Georgina Rodríguez and Chioma Rowland to Lauren Sánchez Bezos, and now Taylor Swift, many celebrities have been flaunting massive stones this summer. Travis Kelce, 35, proposed to Taylor with an old mine-cut diamond set on a yellow gold band, according to The New York Times.
The ring was designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry in New York. There are several different estimates for the ring. Ann Grimmett, the VP for merchandising at Jared Jewelers, estimates the ring could cost anywhere from $250,000 to $500,000.
Similarly, Nilesh Rakholia, the founder of Abelini Jewellery, estimates the ring’s cost to be between $1 million and $1.3 million, based on the carat it carries. No matter the price of the ring, the best part is that they’re officially engaged
